Craig S. Keener is especially known for his work as a New Testament scholar on Bible background (commentaries on the New Testament in its early Jewish and Greco-Roman settings). His popular-level IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament has sold over half a million copies (if one includes translations and electronic sales).
Craig Keener is author of many books, including three commentaries that have won awards in Christianity Today. His commentaries include:

Craig’s wife Médine, with a Ph.D. from University of Paris 7, currently teaches as an adjunct at Eastern University. Médine was a refugee for eighteen months in her home country in Africa, and together they have worked for ethnic reconciliation in Africa.
Craig is professor of New Testament at Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University, and has taught in various countries, especially countries in Africa. Craig is also currently one of the associate pastors at an African-American Baptist church in Philadelphia (see enontab.com). On occasion, he also speaks in other forums (most recently, for the National Council of Churches Committee on the Uniform Series; for scholarly meetings; and at a diverse range of theological institutions, most recently the Assemblies of God Seminary and a meeting at Andrews University).
